It’s time to start the seeds for 2013 in earnest.

This is our fourth growing season at Clean Slate Farm and seed starting is an annual ritual. We’ve never bought vegetable plants because there are so many interesting heirloom varieties to choose from. Each season teaches us more about how and what to grow and gives us new ideas for what new methods to try.¬†Unfortunately each year “seed fever” sets in and I order all kinds of new seed. Last year we settled on several varieties we liked and saved the seeds so some of what we will grow this year is continuing the heirloom tradition.
